The government of Cameroon has ordered telecom operators to block unregistered phones and digital devices from local networks, The Tribune reported. The ministry of finance directed operators to immediately disconnect over 700,000 smuggled digital devices. The 04 June letter from finance minister Louis Paul Motaze directly targets MTN Cameroon and Orange Cameroon, which control over 90 percent of the local market.
