Orange Romania, UPC launch quad-play offer Tuesday 5 February 2008 | 11:30 AM CET

Mobile operator Orange Romania teams with Romanian cable TV and internet services provider UPC to enter the market of quad-play services. The move comes to counter the RCS&RDS and Romtelecom-Cosmote quad-play offers. The Orange and UPC test offer was launched in Ploiesti, Tulcea, Giurgiu, Suceava and Focsani and ended on 31 January. Users were invited to sign up for a triple-play package from UPC and a new mobile telephony subscription from Orange. Each operator offered customers who subscribed to the services package a 10-euro discount when they subscribed. CEO of Orange Romania Richard Moat told local paper Ziarul Financiar the move is the first step Orange has made to include TV service in its portfolio.
