Digicel acquires Orange Dominica Tuesday 15 September 2009 | 08:28 AM CET
 
Caribbean mobile operator Digicel has completed the acquisition of Orange Dominica, a wholly-owned subsidiary of France Telecom. According to Digicel spokeswoman Antonia Graham, the operator will switch Orange Dominica's customers to its own network over the next several days. No financial details on the transaction have been revealed. Digicel launched operations on the Dominican market in 2006, following the acquisition of US operator Cingular Wireless' Caribbean operations. Following the acquisition of Orange Dominica by Digicel, the Caribbean island will be served by two mobile operators, namely Digicel and Cable&Wireless (Lime).
