Bahrain's operator Batelco has appointed a supervisory committee and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the company until a new Group CEO is appointed. The Supervisory Committee is comprised of three Batelco board members and has been appointed on an interim basis. Peter Kaliaropoulos, currently CEO for strategy, has been appointed COO of the Group. Batelco did not give a reason for the departure of Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa as CEO. Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who remains chairman of the company, said the company's subsidiaries continue to be led by seasoned officers with vast experience in the telecommunications field.
