Beeline, MasterCard launch NFC payments
Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has launched NFC-based payments. The project was launched in cooperation with Russian bank Alfa-Bank and MasterCard using the MasterCard PayPass technology. An application from the bank is necessary in order to access the services. Payments can be performed by swiping a NFC handset on the PayPass reader at the checkout. Transactions are processed over the Alfa-Bank processing centre based on SmartVista software. The service is currently accessible for a pilot group of Alfa-Bank customers.

MTS offers MasterCard attached to SIM

Russian operator MTS has cooperated with MasterCard and Ak Bars Bank to offer customers the opportunity to attach bank cards to its mobile phone SIMs. PayPhone packages will be offered to MTS subscribers at branches of Ak Bars Bank in Kazan from 01 July.
