A computer laboratory has been opened at Diepsloot Primary School in Johannesburg North by mobile operator Cell C, ZTE, New Age Holdings and the Department of Communications (DOC), IT Web reported. This is part of a schools programme called 'Reclaiming our future through ICT'. It has ten Dell XPS desktop computers with core i7 processors, running on a Windows server and uses NComputing on thin client. Cell C has subsidised 12 months' internet connectivity, consisting of 60 GB of data and a USB speedstick, capable of speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps. Cell C has also donated 50 sets of school uniforms worth ZAR 35,000.
