Cherry Mobile unveils smartphones, dual-core tablet

Philippine mobile handset maker Cherry Mobile has introduced the Candy smartphone, the Magnum 2X smartphone, and the Supreme tablet. The Candy runs on a 416 MHz Mediatek processor, is powered by Android 2.2, and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The phone features a 2.8-inch touchscreen, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and has dual Sim/dual standby functionality. The Candy is priced at PHP 3,699 and a version with a Qwerty keyboard, the Candy Chat, will be launched shortly. Meanwhile, the Magnum 2X runs on Android and comes equipped with the nVidia Tegra 2 Cortex A9 dual-core processor. The phone features a 3.8-inch touchscreen, dual camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, and GPS. Cherry sells the Magnum 2X for PHP 15,899. The tablet, the Supreme, also sports the nVidia Tegra 2 Cortex A9 and runs on Android 2.2 which will be upgradable to 4.0 in March. The tablet supports Wi-Fi and HDMI and comes with a 2-megapixel camera, and 1 GB of memory which is expandable to 32 GB. The Supreme is priced at PHP 16,899.
