Compal expects Q1 smartphone shipments to rise 20%

Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer Compal Communications is expecting smartphone shipments for the first quarter to go up 20 percent sequentially. The increase is due to increasing orders for Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones from Nokia and orders for Android smartphones from Lenovo and Motorola Mobility, The Digitimes reports citing company information. In the second quarter, Compal expects another rise of 20 percent in smartphone shipments.
