Data, pay-TV services to see high growth in Vietnam

Vietnam, one of the smallest markets in the Asia-Pacific region, will be the fourth fastest-growing market in Asia-Pacific through 2016, according to a report by Pyramid Research. Data services will drive growth, with mobile data expected to advance at a 9.7 percent CAGR. Fixed broadband revenue is expected to grow at a 14.5 percent CAGR from 2011 to 2016. The progress will mainly be boosted by increasing internet usage, growing 3G adoption and continued investment in faster fixed-line technologies and extended coverage. The report further forecasts that the pay-TV segment will also witness intense growth, with service revenue advancing at a 16.4 percent CAGR through 2016.
