Deutsche Telekom must inform users of iPhone 5 SIM lock

The Regional Court in Bonn has ruled that a telecoms company (Deutsche Telekom) must inform customers that it sells the iPhone 5 with a SIM or network lock. This follows a complaint by the a national competition council. The company sells the iPhone 5 on its website with various mobile phone contract options, but only indicated that it has a SIM lock at the end of the ordering process. The network lock is only mentioned in the 'Frequently Asked Questions' (FAQ) section.
