Monday 19 November 2012 | 17:19 CET | News
Paul Myners, a former Labour minister in the UK and Marks and Spencer chairman, was appointed to the board of Russian mobile operator Megafon as an independent non-executive director, writes The Financial Times. The appointment comes as the Russian mobile operator prepares to raise as much as USD 2.1 billion in a London listing. The appointment of Myners to the board of Megafon should bring more acceptance to Megafon's IPO that has so far been surrounded by controversy, according to the paper.
