Monday 30 August 2010 | 17:17 CET | News
German telecommunications regulator BNA has assigned the abstract frequency blocks for the frequency ranges 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz, which were auctioned in May of this year. The regulator had conducted a lottery for most of the frequency blocks, which took place at the BNA office in Mainz. Telefonica O2 Germany was assigned the first two blocks of 800 MHz, Vodafone Germany gets the middle two blocks and Telekom Deutschland (formerly T-Mobile Germany) receive the two blocks in the high-end of the frequency range. The 2.6 GHz division can be found on the BNA website and includes E-Plus as fourth auction participant. The auction also included frequency blocks from the 1.8 GHz and 2.0 GHz ranges, which already were concrete and have been given to the winning bidder.
