German VoD film revenue worth EUR 46 mln in Q1 - study

Home entertainment video sales in Germany (DVD, Blu-ray and VoD) reached EUR 358 million in Q1 2103, up 15 percent from EUR 310 million in Q1 2012, according to research by GfK Panel Services Deutschland for industry group BVV. VoD sales reached EUR 17 million, up 55 percent from EUR 11 million a year earlier. VoD rental revenue increased 64 percent to EUR 29 million in Q1 2013, from EUR 17 million in Q1 2012. VoD revenues from sales and rentals of films reached EUR 46 million in Q1 2013, to account for 10.4 percent of total online video sales.
