HTC starts Connect certification to link to home stereo
HTC announced a new programme to improve connectivity of its mobile devices with other consumer electronics. The HTC Connect certification programme will support streaming content from HTC phones to home and car stereo and video systems. The HTC One series of smartphones will be the first to receive HTC Connect certification through a software update in the coming months, and Pioneer Electronics will be the first partner to demonstrate the initial HTC Connect certified audio experience. HTC Connect will be featured as part of Pioneer's 2012 lineup of DLNA-capable audio/video receivers and wireless speakers. The HTC Connect certification will also be extended to future Pioneer products. The initial HTC Connect certified products are DLNA-based, and the programme will evolve to include Bluetooth, NFC, wireless speakers, as well as car audio and video.
