KCC to investigate iPhone 5 subsidies

Tuesday 4 December 2012 | 02:17 CET | News
The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) will investigate subsidies offered by mobile operators for the Apple iPhone 5. The regulator said the probe is an extension of a crackdown on unfair subsidies that it began in September, the JoongAng Daily writes. The KCC warned KT and SK Telecom that strong measures will be imposed if subsidies are found to breach rules and the agency said it may have spotted excessive subsidies in certain distribution channels during pre-sales of the device.
