LTE subs in Korea hit 4 million

The number of LTE subscribers in South Korea has risen to 4 million since launch of the services in July last year, The Dong-A Ilbo reports. SK Telecom revealed it had 2.09 million subscribers as of 16 April, LG Uplus had 1.71 million LTE customers, and KT, the latest entrant on the LTE market, is estimated to have around 400,000 subscribers. Both SK Telecom and LG Uplus offer nationwide LTE data services and KT is expected to announce its nationwide rollout shortly. Furthermore, voice over LTE services are expected to be launched later this year. SK Telecom is targeting 6 million LTE subscribers this year while LG Uplus aims for 4 million.
