MacroSolve files patent suit against Redbox

Mobile technology IP company MacroSolve has filed a patent infringement suit against DVD and game rental kiosk operator Redbox Automated Retail for infringement of a patent addressing mobile information collection systems across wireless networks. The patent covers fundamental technology in the mobile app space used by multiple companies. MacroSolve chairman and CEO Jim McGill said that it was awarded the patent in October 2010 and extended its rights to defend the IP through 2025.
