Mercado Livre registers USD 1.3 billion transactions in Q3

Brazilian e-commerce company Mercado Livre increased the volume of financial transactions on its site by 51.8 percent during Q3 2011. The figure reached USD 1.35 billion, against USD 888 million in the same period of 2010. From July to September, Mercado Livre users traded 14.4 million products worldwide, including 13 Latin American countries in which it operates. The number represents an increase of 38.1 percent over the same period a year earlier. The site reached the milestone of 62 million people registered, including 3.6 million new users in the third quarter.
