MTS launches femtocells project in North-West

Russian mobile operator MTS has launched its Reliable Access project. The project seeks to improve indoor 3G connection in North Western Russia by using femtocells, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported. MTS plans to offer special rates under the Home Zone Billing technology for those subscribers who elect to use femtocells. The operator will use equipment from Alcatel-Lucent.
