French cable operator Numericable is testing a new modem from Netgear. The company currently uses the Netgear CVG834G, but has started a test with customers in Grenoble of the Netgear CG3100, the website Ariase reports. The box offers Gigabit switch with four Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 802.11n and two RJ 11 phone ports. The modem with Eurodocsis 3.0 can support up to 400Mbps download and 120Mbps upload, but the beta test is reportedly limited to 100Mbps. It is expected to later be tested with FTTH at higher speeds.
