Wednesday 22 June 2011 | 12:42 CET | News
Internet organisations Packet Clearing House (PCH) and ICANN joined by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) inaugurated the Singapore cyber security facility. The Singapore cyber security facility is first of three facilities that will bring an extra measure of security for internet users around the globe. The facility will provide secure digital signatures for the country-code top level domains of dozens of countries. The three new facilities, located in Singapore; Zurich, Switzerland and San Jose, California, will provide cryptographic security using the DNSSEC protocol. PCH's DNSSEC facilities will allow many additional countries to gain DNSSEC protection for their country code TLDs without needing to build and maintain their own security facilities. Cryptographic master keys have been created for Tanzania, Uganda, Afghanistan, and ten other countries that have already chosen to use the system.
