Samsung files new patent suit against Apple

Thursday 19 April 2012 | 16:23 CET | News
Samsung has filed a fresh patent suit against Apple, in US federal court in California. The suit responds to a case filed by Apple in February and alleges infringement of eight Samsung patents, the blog FossPatents reports. Two of these are FRAND patents that Samsung declared essential to ETSI standards. The suit comes despite an earlier announcement that Apple and Samsung's CEOs and in-house lawyers will meet for court-moderated settlement talks within 90 days. Those talks were ordered by the same federal judge, Judge Lucy Koh, who is also presiding over the new case.
