Sony Xperia Tablet Z to be available in May in Romania

Friday 29 March 2013 | 08:49 CET | News
Sony announced the launch in Romania of its new flagship mobile devices, namely the Sony Xperia Z smartphone and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. The tablet will be available at the end of May, while Sony's Xperia Z is already available from local mobile operators. According to Sony Romania's manager for mobile products cited by local publication Hotnews.ro, the company expects to sell under 1,000 Xperia Tablet Z units in 2013. According to Zota, the premium tablet market is still a niche one in Romania as there are two or three competitors in total that make the majority of sales and because the offers of operators did not brought these companies in a favourable segment. She estimates that this segment, in which Sony is also present, makes up 10 percent of total local tablet market that is dominated by 'no-name' products or small-sized tablets.

In addition, the company released in Romania the BTX500 and the BTX300, two sound systems with NFC and 'One-touch' wireless connection, MDR-1 heatsets, the Cyber-shot WX300 and HX300 photo cameras as well as the Sony Bravia TV with Triluminos Display.
