Spiral deploys BridgeWave's FlexPort uWave

US-based ISP Spiral Communications has deployed gigabit wireless services supplier BridgeWave Communications' FlexPort uWave to support IP traffic across Iowa and Nebraska, United States. The full rate gigabit microwave link provides connectivity to Spiral's customer base over traditional fibre. Using microwave technology, the FlexPort uWave link provides an extension of Spiral Communication's fibre backbone with minimal latency. FlexPort uWave operates in the 18 to 38 GHz spectrum, compliant of transmitting full-rate gigabit Ethernet in a single, all-outdoor unit. Utilising BridgeWave's Ethernet switching, digital modem and signal processing technologies, FlexPort uWave is designed to offer access and aggregation capacity without having to add on a second radio or climb a tower to achieve full-rate gigabit transmission.
