StudiVZ to relaunch in the summer

Tuesday 10 April 2012 | 10:57 CET | News
German social network StudiVZ will relaunch in a new version this summer, according to StudiVZ CEO Markus Schunk. In an interview with Austrian newspaper Die Presse, Schunk said that he expects further churn until the relaunch. The network used to be the number one social network in Germany, but over time lost more and more members to its rival Facebook. Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg wanted to buy the company a few years ago and offered a share in the profits. The takeover was not possible due to data protection policies. Schlunk now wants to put more money in the StudiVZ network and its sub-brands SchuelerVZ and MeinVZ and relaunch the services in the summer.
