Switch, PHC open internet security facility in Zurich

Swiss internet domain registry Switch announced that it has inaugurated a new internet security facility in Zurich together with non-profit research institute Packet Clearing House (PHC) on 20 February. The security facility in Zurich, and those in Singapore and San Jose, protect countries' national domains via DNSSEC security protocols. DNSSEC provides internet users with digital signatures that guarnantee correct website access. Bill Woodcock, Director of Packet Clearing House, said that with the keys held secret in Switzerland, the company can provide the geopolitical diversity when digitally signing the domains of their national banks, universities and government agencies.
