T-Mobile, 3 sign national 2G/3G roaming deal in Austria

T-Mobile Austria and 3 Austria have signed a national roaming agreement under which 3 Austria can use the 2G network of T-Mobile and T-Mobile can use the 3G network of 3 Austria in rural regions. The operators expect to complete the technical support for the agreement before the middle of 2012, enabling both customer bases to profit from better 2G and 3G coverage around Austria. The agreement has no effect on both operators' efforts to upgrade their networks with LTE technology, which they will continue to do independently. The agreement also has no effect on 3 Austria's existing 2G roaming agreement with A1, which continues as before.
