Telekom Austria could spin off E Europe assets - report

Telekom Austria is considering spinning off its assets in Eastern Europe into a separate holding company, reports Austrian newspaper 'Wirtshaftsblatt' citing an unnamed 'well-informed source'. OIAG chief Rudolf Kemler is looking for a new telecoms strategy to protect its asset if new shareholder Carlos Slim pushes for expansion in the region.
