Deutsche Telekom is expanding its DSL services in Germany. Over 250 households in Bockenem in the county of Hildesheim (NI), over 700 households in Bad Birnbach (BY), over 300 households in Grainet (BY), and around 150 households in Meggendorf in the county of Rendsburg-Eckernfoerde (SH) will profit from the new connections providing speeds of up to 50 Mbps (16 Mbps in Meggendorf). Some of the connections are available immediately. The sites in rural areas signed a cooperation contract with Deutsche Telekom on improvements to local broadband infrastructure. Deutsche Telekom is continually installing additional kilometres of fibre-optic cable to enhance bandwidth. Telekom has signed over 3,000 cooperation contracts nationwide to improve broadband infrastructure in Germany.
