Telenor Norway introduces LTE for mobile phones

Telenor Norway announced its LTE network can be used on mobile phones that support LTE besides PCs and tablets. Telenor's network is no longer just for surfing on PCs and tablets. There are already several mobile phones on the market which allow users to surf Telenor's LTE network and more are becoming available all the time. Telenor's LTE mobile network in Norway was launched two months ago, when 11 cities and towns received LTE coverage. Since the opening, expansion has continued at a rapid pace and even more Norwegians will have LTE from Telenor by Christmas. The Telenor LTE network in Drammen, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg, Skien, Porsgrunn and Kristiansand will soon open. In the New Year, Telenor will also introduce LTE in Tromso and the expansion race continues at an ambitious tempo.

Telenor is conducting a fairly intense expansion and updating of the mobile network in Norway, an operation which is planned for completion by the end of 2015. In addition to expanding LTE throughout Norway, Telenor is also conducting a high-intensity expansion of the 3G network.
