Telenor sees problems with 'unpredictable' Montenegro market

Tuesday 13 November 2012 | 13:29 CET | News
The unpredictable business environment in Montenegro is the biggest challenge faced by Telenor, as well as other companies that do business in the Balkan country, according to the executive director of Telenor Montenegro, Karen Nilsen. In an interview for local daily Vijesti, she pointed out that any additional taxes, such as the recently introduced Sim card tax of EUR 1, represent a challenge to both customers and companies. Nilsen said that Telenor has so far invested EUR 40 million in the country to provide modern and high-quality services and products, adding that the company will continue to invest additional resources. She noted that the smartphone market is still underdeveloped, as 80 percent of customers do not use such devices. As priorities for 2013, Nilsen mentioned the development of advanced entertainment services and upgrading capacity.
