Telmex shareholders approve spin-off

Monday 24 December 2007 | 15:18 CET | News
Shareholders in Telmex have approved the Mexican operator's plans to spin off its Latin American activities. The foreign activities and the directories business will be spun off as a separate company with a stock listing, while the Mexican activities will be organised into a new independent business. Telmex expects to complete the spin-off and deliver shares in the new Telmex International to shareholders in 2008. Its shares will be listed on the Mexican exchange and as ADRs in the US.
