UK Communications Minister Ed Vaizey insists that he supports net neutrality and that regulators would intervene to stop anti-competitive behaviour. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Vaizey moved to calm fears after he gave a speech entitled 'The Open Internet'. He insisted that an open internet where consumers can access all legal content was his first and foremost priority. He added that new Ofcom powers set to to come into force through a 2011 EU Directive will give the regulator sufficient power to prevent anti-competitive practices.
