Vestel to deliver Yahoo! Connected TV across Europe
Friday 3 September 2010 | 11:13 CET
Consumer electronics maker Vestel has signed a partnership agreement with Yahoo!. Under the terms of the contract, Vestel and partner OEM brands will ship Yahoo! Connected TV to consumers in more than 40 countries across Europe starting in the first quarter of 2011. Consumers across Europe will be able to access content sources, movies, TV shows, social networks, and videos via Yahoo! Connected TV. Via the Yahoo! Connected TV platform, customers can launch TV widgets or apps, and gain direct access to thousands of entertainment sources, movies, TV shows, videos, and other internet content on demand. Users can also stream the latest movies on Coolroom, get local and global updates from Sky News and BILD News, browse the latest sports scores on Bild mein Klub, listen to music on Putpat, shop on eBay, play games on PlayJam, and keep up with their friends on Twitter and Facebook – all while watching TV.
