Violin Memory to acquire GridIron

Provider of flash-memory-based storage arrays, Violin Memory has acquired GridIron Systems, a company that specialises in accelerating applications that run in data centres, according to AllThingsD. The company plans to announced the deal Monday, but financial terms will not be disclosed. Violin is taking on twenty employees from GridIron and will use its intellectual property in its storage array products, the article said.
