Vivotech sells VivoPay reader business to ID Tech
Vivotech, a US-based contactless reader and NFC software vendor, announced the completion of the sale of its VivoPay reader business to ID Tech, a provider of automatic identification products and a division of International Technologies Systems. Under the terms of the deal, ID Tech acquired Vivotech's reader assets, technologies, and Vivopay trademark. These include Vivopay's contactless/NFC readers for point of sale, self-service kiosk, and vending applications that compliment ID Tech's product offerings. The incorporation of these products and technologies further enhances ID Tech's products for the payment industry. ID Tech is actively working to ensure the continued support of Vivopay products and customers, effective immediately.

Vivotech to end operations - report

US-based contactless reader and NFC software vendor Vivotech has told employees that it plans to cease operations, according to online publication NFC Times citing sources. A source said the vendor had cash-flow problems. A number of conference calls were held on 27 July with employees in branch offices to tell them that it will discontinue operations as it is looking to find buyers for its reader business and possibly the software business, sources told NFC Times.
