Vodafone Germany's IPTV offer to cost less than EUR 10

Vodafone Germany will unveil the details and pricing of its IPTV service Vodafone TV today (2 September), but teltarif.de was able to get some more information before the press conference from product manager Maryna Mogylna. The service is planned to be launched in time for the Christmas shopping season and will be based on a hybrid set top box, which also offers connection possibilities for cable and satellite-based TV services. Vodafone TV will be OTT (Over The Top) service in addition to customer's existing TV connection. The package will first include Video-on-Demand (VoD) content and a set-top box with 320 GB harddisk. The package will also include well known German TV channels and is expected to cost less than EUR 10 per month including the lease of the set-top box, according to sources within Vodafone Germany. Customers will be able to order up to five additional premium packages and the service will only be available for existing or new Vodafone DSL customers.
