Vodafone launches first RBI wireless broadband tower

The first of 154 new wireless broadband towers has been erected under the New Zealand government's Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI). The first tower was launched in Eureka, near Hamilton, and was built by Vodafone as part of its contract with the government. Vodafone New Zealand will deliver fixed wireless broadband to 83 percent of rural New Zealand households and businesses by 2016.
