Vodafone to start LTE pilot in Romania
Vodafone Romania announced it will start testing LTE as of 31 October. Until the commercial launch of LTE services, which will take place at the beginning of next year, Vodafone Romania's customers will be able to test LTE at speeds of up to 75 Mbps in several cities. Starting from 2013, Vodafone Romania will offer LTE services at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Vodafone said its LTE network has been successfully deployed and tested in the main cities of the country. Vodafone's LTE network operates in the 1800 MHz frequency band and has been deployed with Huawei equipment. Romania is one of the first European markets where Vodafone is launching LTE, after Germany and Portugal.

Vodafone Romania officially launched its LTE network in Romania during an event held in Bucharest which included a live demonstration of LTE technology. Cosmote Romania's data consumption up 130-140% y-on-y

Cosmote Romania's consumption of mobile data services increased at a rate of 130-140% year-on-year, writes local paper Ziarul Financiar citing Cosmote Romania's CTO Lampros Iskos.
