WD launches WD TV Play media player

WD, a Western Digital company, has unveiled WD TV Play, a versatile media player that streams Internet channels as well as personal photos, music and movies from other networked devices in the home, directly to an HDTV. Priced at USD 69.99, WD TV Play expands upon the existing WD TV family of products, offering an engaging new app-based user interfaces to allow customers to personalise their entertainment experience. WD TV Play's high-speed wireless or Ethernet connections support full-HD 1080p video streaming. Customers can set their favourite app to automatically play when WD TV Play is turned on and its new remote control features pre-programmed buttons, giving customers one-touch access to their apps. Customers can also download the free WD TV Remote app to turn their iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android compatible mobile device into an advanced remote control.
