There are six main telecoms groups providing services in the Netherlands. The extent to which results are reported varies, but is sufficient to make a number of observations. In this Research Brief we compare these companies from a financial point of view, focusing on revenues (as a proxy for size), EBITDA, capex and free cash flow, as well as growth and margins. KPN is obviously the market leader, with an estimated share of 43 percent, but loses share against cable companies. KPN and the cable companies score best in terms of EBITDA and free cash flow. T-Mobile is a laggard, in terms of margin, capex spending and cash generation.
