Competition intensifies for Polish VOs as more fixed players enter market

Monday 11 August 2014 | 13:47 CET | Author: Erik Sloots | Background
Competition remains intense in the virtual operator market in Poland. According to the latest research from Telecompaper, there are currently 29 active players, ranging from second brands from the mobile operators to retail co-operations to full MVNOs. While the Polish market continues to grow (increase of 222,000 SIM cards in Q1 2014 to 56.733 million, mobile penetration of 147%), the share of VOs in the first quarter of 2014 remained stable at around 3 percent of subscribers, compared to Q3 2013.
