Dutch banks to test supplying Identity Services

Friday 15 January 2016 | 17:09 CET | Author: Bart Garvelink | Background
The leading Dutch consumer banks are developing iDIN, an online service for secure identification and authentication. Later this year, the banks will provide a log in procedure for third party websites, based on the identification method for e-banking. The Dutch tax office will beta test the service with tax payers filing their yearly income statement. iDIN is developed for products and services that legally require an identity check, such as financial products and online sales of alcohol. The banks also want to add convenience by auto-completing a shipping address.
