Genesis pitches DSL Rings for rural broadband

Wednesday 28 November 2012 | 15:44 CET | Author: Bart Garvelink | Background
The Canadian network vendor Genesis Technical Systems has developed DSL Rings, an upgrade for existing copper networks, which promises download speeds up to 400 Mbps. Genesis uses pair bonding on the main binders and connects the local loop in a ring, rather than a star-topology. Genesis is headquartered in Calgary, Canada, with an office in Coventry, UK. At the Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam in October, Genesis showcased a working setup that developed in yard trials, based on the BT network. Telecompaper spoke with founder and CEO Stephen Cooke.
