GSMA reports on its first Global Mobile Money Adoption Survey

The GSMA has published the main results from its first Global Mobile Money Adoption Survey, carried out during June 2011. It shows that the number of deployments has risen tremendously, but that the number of active customers remains only a small portion, on average, of the number of registered customers. Of the functional payments (excluding airtime top-ups) P2P transfers are the most common.
