MCX has little chance of making it in the mobile payment world

Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX) has recently announced that it is delaying the nationwide launch of its mobile payment service, CurrentC. The mobile payment JV set up by major retailers in the USA stated that in the short term it will focus on partnerships with financial institutions. As the mobile payment landscape is slowly taking shape with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay now available in the US, next to longer existing players like Paypal or Square Cash, MCX has little chance of being able to take a sizeable pie of this market in the near future, if it were to launch.
