Mobile money continues to grow in Kenya, research shows economic importance

According to the latest statistics about the Kenyan communications sector, mobile money transfer subscriptions rose from 28.7 million at the end of September 2015 to 31.0 million at the end of September 2016. The number of agents also increased considerably, from just under 136,000 in September 2015 to just under 170,000 a year later.
