Mobile money in Africa is more than M-Pesa

Although M-Pesa in Kenya is undoubtedly the most successful mobile money scheme in Africa it is far from the only one. Recently three large mobile operators announced growth figures for their mobile money schemes in Africa. Orange, Bharti Airtel and MTN are all active in a large number of African countries. Not a single one of their countries may have been able to emulate the success of M-Pesa in Kenya, but together they point to a growing usage and acceptance of mobile money across Africa.
