O2/E-Plus to lead in customers, still third in revenues after merger

The merger of O2 and E-Plus will create the biggest mobile operator in Germany in terms of customer numbers, with a 38 percent share based on figures for the end of Q1 2014. Telekom Deutschland is close behind with a market share of 34 percent, up by 1 percentage point compared to the end of Q1 2013, while Vodafone will find itself in last place, with 28 percent of customers, after losing 1 percentage point in the past year.
