SFR/Bouygues merger to take nearly half French mobile market, leaving Free far behind

Further consolidation in the French market comes as no surprise given the continued deterioration in service revenues there. In the first quarter of this year, the French mobile market saw a 4.6 percent increase in customers compared to a year earlier, but the market's mobile service revenues still fell by 2.1 percent over the same period to EUR 4.3 billion.
